CERHA was founded at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM) in response to a request from a group of students from outside Montreal who were facing difficulties integrating into their new environment. Today, CERHA is proud to serve Montreal residents aged 18 and over.
The Centre d’écoute et de référence Halte Ami encourages each person to take an active role in overcoming their difficulties. By working to understand their issues and develop appropriate strategies, individuals acquire valuable tools for overcoming obstacles and moving forward independently. This process helps build self-confidence and the ability to face uncertainty.
Located in the heart of downtown, just steps from Berri-UQAM station, the Centre d’écoute et de référence Halte Ami offers a range of free and confidential services to support individuals on their personal and integration journeys:
- Listening service
- Referral service
- Psychosocial prevention
- Integration assistance
- Francisation and language pairing
- Swearing-in services
By cultivating a climate of trust and support, the Centre d’écoute et de référence Halte Ami helps individuals develop resilience and flourish in their personal journeys.
