{"id":4103,"date":"2024-05-27T00:12:44","date_gmt":"2024-05-27T04:12:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/racorsm.org\/organismes-membres\/groupe-psychanalytique-du-mont-royal-gprm\/"},"modified":"2025-04-18T12:46:06","modified_gmt":"2025-04-18T16:46:06","slug":"groupe-psychanalytique-du-mont-royal-gprm","status":"publish","type":"organismes-membres","link":"https:\/\/racorsm.org\/en\/member-organizations\/groupe-psychanalytique-du-mont-royal-gprm\/","title":{"rendered":"Groupe Psychanalytique du Mont-Royal (GPRM)"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Based in Montreal, GPMR serves a diverse clientele: young adults in their twenties, students who have dropped out or are at a crossroads in their education, young families or single-parent households, social assistance recipients, unemployed individuals, recent immigrants to Canada, Indigenous youth, and young people from immigrant families navigating between two cultures.<\/p>\n\n<p>Many of these individuals experience severe anxiety disorders, personality disorders, narcissistic disturbances, deep depression, and even psychotic episodes. There are also prevalent issues related to substance abuse and frequent violent or self-destructive behaviours (&#8220;acting out&#8221;).<\/p>\n\n<p>Therapeutic services are provided on a regular weekly basis and for a sufficient duration (typically averaging two years) to help individuals and families explore the roots of their suffering and regain stability in their lives. These long-term, in-depth psychotherapy services complement the existing short-term interventions (10 to 15 sessions) typically offered in CLSCs and hospital outpatient clinics in Quebec.<\/p>\n\n<p>GPMR\u2019s services contribute to poverty alleviation by improving the psychological well-being of individuals in the Greater Montreal area, enhancing their quality of life at personal, family, professional, and social levels, and enabling them to better integrate into society and develop their personal potential.<\/p>\n\n<p>The clinical team at GPMR is composed of experienced professionals, including psychiatrists, psychologists, and psychotherapists who are members of the Ordre des psychologues du Qu\u00e9bec or other authorized professional bodies. All have completed several years of post-graduate psychoanalytic specialization. Their social commitment is reflected in the clinic\u2019s significantly reduced fees\u2014approximately 37% of the standard rate for psychologists\u2014and in the fact that part of their clinical work is provided on a volunteer basis.<\/p>\n\n<p>In addition, the GPMR team is committed to advancing mental health education by:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Offering clinical supervision to community mental health organizations and emerging practitioners;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Organizing specialized events (conferences and other initiatives) for mental health professionals, specialized educators, elementary and secondary school teachers, and the next generation of practitioners, including doctoral students and psychiatric residents;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Participating in public awareness initiatives on mental health issues, including media appearances such as radio programs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Groupe Psychanalytique du Mont-Royal (GPMR) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to mental health.
